Donald Trump has repeated praise from political consultant Mary Matalin that she made over a month ago.

Among her many roles in the Republican party, Ms Matalin was campaign director for George H. W. Bush and an assistant to George W. Bush.

At the beginning of March Ms Matalin said “I can die happy now” referring to Trump’s job performance.

The president followed his scathing message about Chuck Todd with a more measured comment on North Korea negotiations.

Donald Trump said: “Maybe things will work out, maybe they won’t – only time will tell” but, in a style we’re more used to seeing from his Twitter feed, the president added: “but the work I am doing now should have been done a long time ago!”

Donald Trump has tweeted an attack on Chuck Todd, an American journalist who is the political director for NBC.

The president has called him “sleepy eyes” for years, however Mr Todd once said in an interview with The Wrap that the president “has no idea” where the nickname came from.

The rest of the message refers to the ongoing negotiations between North Korea and the US. Trump says North Korea has “agreed to denucleatization”, referring to North Korea’s recent announcement that it will stop all nuclear tests and missile launches.
